WHAT SIZE TABLECLOTH SHOULD I CHOOSE?

Just like choosing the right bed linen, picking the right tablecloth size isn’t always easy!

The size of your tablecloth mainly depends on the dimensions of your table (length, width, and shape), but also on the type of drop you're aiming for. A tablecloth that’s too small might look awkward, while one that’s too large can get in the way of your guests.
The key is to aim for a balanced drop on all sides of the table.

To achieve the look you want, it’s highly recommended to measure your table beforehand.
This is especially important if you want to visualize how much the tablecloth will hang over the edges, what we call the tablecloth drop.

Not sure about the size of your table? Don’t worry!
You can also estimate the right tablecloth size based on the number of people your table can seat.
Follow our guide below to find the perfect fit!

THE TABLECLOTH DROP

The tablecloth drop plays both an aesthetic and practical role. It affects the overall style of your table, the comfort of your guests, and can even influence the mood of the meal.

What drop is best for an everyday tablecloth?

For daily use, a short to medium drop is ideal—generally between 20 and 30 cm (8 to 12 inches). This discreet length keeps the fabric from getting in the way of your guests’ legs and makes the tablecloth easy to care for.

What drop should you choose for a formal tablecloth?

For a more dressed-up or ceremonial look, go for a longer drop, around 40 to 50 cm (16 to 20 inches). This generous length enhances the beauty of the fabric and gives your table a refined, elegant appearance.

And what about oval tables?

Our rectangular tablecloths work perfectly on oval tables, thanks to their soft drape and generous width that naturally follows the curves of the table.

WHAT FABRIC SHOULD YOU CHOOSE FOR A TABLECLOTH?

The fabric you choose impacts not only the look and feel of your table setting, but also comfort and care. Here are the most recommended fabrics for a quality tablecloth.

LINEN-COTTON BLEND TABLECLOTH

A linen-cotton blend combines the natural charm of linen with the softness of cotton.
It’s the perfect option for a tablecloth that feels both elegant and casual.

• Lightly crinkled texture – very on-trend
• Strong, breathable, and long-lasting
• Fluid and natural drape

For a bohemian, Mediterranean, or coastal vibe, this type of mixed fabric is an excellent choice.
